Unwillingly #BLM

Unwillingly

Cemented to the swallowing earth
Captive to this injustice
Hands bound behind my forsaken body
Pleading for mercy
Unwillingly

Unwillingly I surrender
To this revulsion you refuse to call oppression
Yet I am the one in the centre
Unwillingly

Peace. How can I remain in peace?
Without withdrawing from my beliefs
Peace hasn’t brought piety and choice like I was promised
Instead I was thrown into a whirlpool of hatred and dismissal
Unwillingly

Would you step down?
Would you retreat ?
When your race suffers globally
Just at one glance of the face
Where is the my choice, where is my liberty ?

You’ve had it
You’ve had the peace, the authority, the respect, the equality
So don’t threaten me with ‘looting leads to shooting’

Because what I will do willingly
Is admit my chance at supremacy
For the generations to come

Unimportant is race, religion or money
But I have a duty to speak up now!
